Production of enzymes with appropriate activity, selectivity and operational robustness requires the necessary toolbox of methodologies. Ingenza has invested significantly in the development of an unparallelled range of enabling technologies in bioprocess development including high throughput cloning and screening methodologies, from adaptable robotic-based chromatography-coupled mass spectrometry to high throughput solid phase colorimetric assays and ultra high throughput plate based microbial selections. These hierarchical screening approaches enable the identification and characterisation of superior biocatalysts from libraries of over 1 million members. This range of screens, supported on a foundation of molecular biology and process chemistry, allows Ingenza to identify and evolve a wide range of enzyme classes, and to formulate and implement each as industrial biocatalysts in new bioprocesses applications.
