The successful candidate will be embedded within the operations team that is key to the success of the business in a role with flexible working hours. The successful candidate will be based at the Roslin Innovation Centre where there are regular bus links to the City Centre, free on-site parking, an on-site gym, on-site childcare and several on-site cafes – the perfect setting to meet colleagues over a coffee in view of the beautiful Pentland Hills.

Job Details

This role is varied and no day will be quite the same – which is what makes this position very exciting! Our Operations Department work with and support all scientific colleagues at Ingenza to effectively and efficiently manage many different aspects of the day to day running of the business. The successful candidate, reporting to the CFO, will be principally responsible for processing the financial aspects of our busy office, with the main areas of responsibility encompassing:

  • Responsibility for posting all transactions into Quickbooks accounts package.
  • Including Supplier Invoices & Credits,
  • Managing daily purchase orders
  • Managing suppliers’ payments
  • Ability to accurately undertake monthly bank and direct debit reconciliations, including foreign currency transactions.
  • Processing employee expenses
  • Assisting the Head of Operations and CFO with any additional tasks towards the efficient running of the office
  • Working synergistically with the Laboratory Technicians to ensure orders are timely and fulfilled

Skills / Experience

The candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a hands-on financial role, ideally using Quickbooks or similar accounting package
  • Working towards or AAT qualified, support may be offered towards completing qualification
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office applications
  • A willingness to learn and to continuously develop
  • Be an excellent team player and work in synergy with our Operations Team
  • An eagerness to help troubleshoot and problem-solve
  • An exceptional telephone manner
  • An organised mindset and the ability to cope with multiple tasks simultaneously, and at times under pressure
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
