We have a very exciting opportunity for an ambitious Finance Manager to join and help develop the finance function of our business in line with our strategic goals.  

The successful candidate will be embedded within the operations team that is key to the success of the business. The successful candidate will be based at our brand-new facility at Edinburgh Technopole, where there are regular bus links to the City Centre, free on-site parking, and an on-site cafe – the perfect setting to meet colleagues over a coffee in view of the beautiful Pentland Hills.

Job Details

This role is varied and no day will be quite the same – which is what makes this position very exciting! Our Operations Department work with and support all scientific colleagues at Ingenza to effectively and efficiently manage many different aspects of the day to day running of the business. The successful candidate, reporting to the CFO, will be principally responsible for managing the financial transactions of the business, with the main areas of responsibility encompassing:

  • All transactions within Quickbooks accounts package
  • Including supplier invoices
  • Managing daily purchase orders and suppliers’ payments
  • Ability to accurately undertake monthly bank and direct debit reconciliations, including foreign currency transactions
  • Preparing month end accruals and prepayments
  • Processing employee expenses
  • Posting month end journals
  • Assisting with any additional tasks towards the efficient running of the business

Skills / Experience

The candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a hands-on financial role, ideally using Quickbooks or similar accounting package
  • Minimum required qualification – AAT qualified
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office applications
  • A willingness to learn and to continuously develop
  • Be an excellent team player and work in synergy across our whole business, at all levels of seniority
  • An eagerness to help troubleshoot and problem-solve
  • An organised mindset and the ability to cope with multiple tasks simultaneously, and at times under pressure
