At Ingenza, extraordinary accomplishments are a part of our everyday journey. We are thrilled to share the remarkable achievement of Scott Baxter, our Head of Downstream Processing, who recently completed the Courmayeur/Champex/Chamonix (CCC) race at Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB). This iconic ultramarathon climbs 6,100 metres of elevation through the breathtaking peaks of Italy, Switzerland and France, and is often described as one of the most prestigious trail running races in the world.

The CCC trail race – one of 36 renowned trail running events making up the UTMB World Series – is an extreme test of physical and mental resilience, pushing the limits of even the most seasoned athletes. This year, at the 20th anniversary of the ultramarathon, Scott joined roughly 2,100 competitors that made their way to the starting line in Courmayeur, Italy. The aim of the event is to navigate the final 101-kilometre leg of the famous Tour du Mont Blanc course in under 26 hours and 30 minutes, but Scott’s personal target was to complete the race in less than 24 hours.

“Overall, the event was taxing and extremely tough, but I greatly enjoyed the whole experience and managed to reach my sub-24-hour goal,” Scott commented. “The spectacular mountain views – and lively support from the locals – made my muscles and joints ache a little bit less, and my family were there to assist me at each aid station, and to celebrate with me at the finish line. Their presence made the event even more special. In addition, I was overwhelmed with the messages of support I received from my colleagues at Ingenza, both before and after the event. Knowing that they were cheering me on meant a lot to me.”

Scott’s dedication and perseverance has truly inspired each and every member of the Ingenza team, and we commend him on this incredible feat. Congratulations, Scott!
